Except there is software that takes advantage of the extra power of PC via better-than-console settings for AA, resolution, filtering, draw distance, etc.

And there's also software that doesn't take advantage of PC's extra power like ports of questionable quality, remember how that turned out for Quantum Break ? (Those GTX 970's will never be the same again after getting humiliated by what looks like an HD 7770 equivalent.)

Moral of the story is that you need both in the end ...

Taking one extreme over the other at the end of the spectrum simply isn't good no matter how you see it ...

To be fair. Quantum Break also gained increases in performance with a monitor with a higher refresh rate. :P

But that was due to Microsoft pushing it's Universal Windows Platform, not a fault of the PC itself.

I have already made a counter argument to this, so I would rather not repeat myself.

The "PC Gaming Master Race" isn't confused, most of us have applauded the technical achievements of Uncharted 4.

As for "PC gamers are oblivious to the fact that no developer out there has taken full advatage of that in a retail game"

That is far from the truth, many developers try to be the next "Crysis" on PC by pushing visuals harder, many console gamers also recognize the superior tech available in a high-end PC, it's the same tech that they hope will be in the latest console rumor.

I was half joking, satire on half the nonsense each side is spouting. You really see yourself as a group then? A part of this "master race"? That seems a bit dangerous man.

I haven't ever lied are try to shy away from my preferential gaming platform, the PC. It's even in my Sig.

Can some of you peoples stop comparing Uncharted to an MMO? ::coughStarCitizencough:: FYI, MMOs aren't suppose to be tiny, otherwise it wouldn't be game if it was.

Star Citizen is not an MMO.

You should probably read up on it to truly understand it.

I did answer the question. Aka. "I've seen better".

Physics, Shadowing, Texturing, VFX the works are all a step down from Star Citizen. Not to mention that Uncharted 4 is only 1080P/900P and struggles to maintain 60fps.
I won't even mention the inferior Anti-Aliasing and texture filtering and some of the Normal Map pop-in.

Uncharted managed to achieve it's degree of fidelity thanks to the tiny areas which allows more of the consoles limited resources to be focused on the teeny  tiny amount of assets, it's the same issue that the Order 1886 and Ryse had, they were very "small" experiences.

Uncharted 4 is a decently looking game, for a console game. - But the PC is still in another league entirely, especially once you start looking towards 5k, eyefinity/surround vision/VR, in other words, it's the same old status quo.

You're talking about graphics settings, but the OP is talking about the total visual package of Uncharted 4. I'm mostly a pc gamer but I have to say that it's no doubt the best looking game I've ever played. Unlike previous Uncharted games, the levels are also actually pretty big. I wouldn't say sandbox big, but it's close though.

Also, running games at super high resolutions and the highest AA settings doesn't make the graphics that much better. It makes them sharper and less jagged, but it's still the same game, using the same assets. That's the beauty with console graphics, they can squeeze every bit of performance out of these things to get the best possible graphics on screen, optimized for a locked 30FPS.

The levels aren't big. They are limited and built in such a way to guide you from point A to point B. Which works well for keeping the rendering load low.

Higher Resolutions also allow for smaller details to become more visible. Anti-Aliasing in Uncharted is also inferior to what the PC can do.
