I confess, i do think they are the future. Disc drives just can't keep up with the rate ofdata transfer and go pretty much unused on the ps4 and x1. Everything gets put in the HDD. I would like to see cartridges make a return, because it would make games perform better.
Also, disc drives have always been easy to malfunction/deteriorate. It also results in a cooler and sturdier system.
So, the only question is: will the costs finally allow it?
