Basically he's saying a game that has you in the wild, with an open world, and hunting is a Far Cry 3 clone. Its a stretch. With his logic AC and MGSV are also FC3. |
Hmm, marooned on an island filled with people out to get you. Trying to get back to your friends, ending up as a lone warrior anyway. Optional 'tombs' with treasure. Sounds familiar. The big difference for me was that FC3 did not take itself seriously which made it the better game. TR suffered too much from a disconnect between the player's actions and the character it was trying to portray.
Here's a good spoiler free comparison

Although I have to disagree on the draw for story. In FC3 I was actually looking forward to the next crazy cut scene or character. I can't remember any of the side characters from Tombraider while I still rememer a lot from FC3's confrontations.
Anyway if you like the Tombraider reboot you'll enjoy FC3 as well.
