Nintendo could be in big trouble here.
One of the reasons for optimism with the NX was the fact that it was assumed that the NX would be released early in the lifespan of XBone and PS4 and might have a decent amount of time as the most powerful console on the market.
Then we heard that NX was only as powerful as XBone (approx)
Then we heard they aren't using X86 architecture so 3rd parties won't be able to easily port games to NX
Then we heard of PS4 Neo and XBone 2 which will support VR technology
Then we heard NX won't be out for xmas 2016
Then we heard there will be no NX at E3
If Nintendo come to the party with a niche, underpowered product that misses a majority of multi-plat titles then those Nintendo doom threads may actually be right for once....
