Animals have independant thoughts too, and some are smarter than some low IQ humans.
But some countries still hunt and eat whales. Dolphines still get caught in nets.
Not sure if independant thought proccess will mean we ll automatically just treat them right.
Also I really hope we dont allow total independent thinking, Id like there to be restrictions (three laws of robotics by asimov).
this needs to happend:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
- A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
