National culture? What is this? The 19th century? Do you still believe in imagined communities?
A national culture is something state tried to reach in the 19th century to use to mobilize their citizens. It's a pure fallacy the day of today. Take for example Belgium. No one says we have one national culture, but 2, a flemish and a walloon. But that's simply not true. There is such a large diversity between every part and city of Belgium that our national culture is diversity. That's not always an easy thing, but it has always been this way for the crossroads of Europe. There are no homogenous societies in the EU anymore.
