How is that even possible? How expensive is TV entertaiment where you live?

I was paying roughly $170 after taxes I believe for tv, phone and Internet 50/50.  I didn't use the phone but it actually cost the same without it they told me.  

The vue is $39.99 and I got the 50/50 for $57 after taxes.  

I called and complained and they offered me the same package for I think around $140 give or take after taxes but with two year contract.  Why sign a contract to pay $40 more a month.  So in all I saved around $70 a month from what I was paying and at the cheapest they offered $40 a month with two year contract.  

Keep in mind the package they offered had less features then ps vue on top of the price difference!  It was ridiculous.
