The United States went into Iraq and destabilized the country in the first place. They also supported the Mujahideen during the Soviet-Afghan war, who would later end up being their main enemy. They also support Saudi Arabia, a country that is known for it's Islamist extremism.

Once again, the United States isn't the west. You don't see millions of refugee's going into America, they're going to Europe instead. And many have made it clear they're there for money. So sorry, but if you aren't facing death and already have a safe place to be, you aren't a refugee.

The United Kingdom also went to war in Iraq, they're part of Europe. Also, I guess you haven't seen the refugee camps that exist: in Turkey there is not enough food and water for the refugees, and there are frequent cases of sexual abuse. Therefore, even if they leave Syria they still are in a severe crisis, which is why many of them continue west.
