Oculus is a private platform, exactly like Steam or Windows or Android or ios or PS4 or linux. They're all platforms and all have exclusive content. It's their right to have. That's why the clever developer develops multiplatform games.

It's not the platform holder's responsibility to make sure that all content running on their platform also runs on every other platform.

Comparing a VR device to a Digital Storefront seems odd... especially considering hardware that can be used on Steam can be used on Origin and any other application the hardware is capable of running.

What makes Oculus a platform? It's a piece of hardware not a Platform, if you're going to release your games on Windows they should work with all Windows Devices that can run it, same as monitors, wheels, joysticks, gamepads, fightsticks etc, you shouldn't purposefully lock out certain hardware just because. There's no games that ONLY RUN ON NVIDIA graphics cards, there's no games that ONLY WORK ON INTEL cpu's, there's no games that ONLY WORK WITH LOGITECH WHEELS, there's no games that can ONLY USE XBO CONTROLLERS, no games that REQUIRE A SAMSUNG MONITOR. Just as their should not be any games that require an Oculus over a Vive or vice-versa.

Windows is an Open Platform and Windows IS the platform, a VR Headset is not a platform, it has no OS.

They are accessories, yes Oculus developers should not have to ensure Vive works with their software but they shouldn't purposefully lock out the Vive because they know it works.
