Don't get me wrong.  The PS4 is probably the best console on the market and the first one I'd recommend to anyone in the market for a new console but damn!  I just want to watch WWE Network and fall asleep.  I turn on my PS4 and I'm greeted to a mess of content tossed in every direction.  I would LOVE it if Sony gives us the option to customize our menus in the near future.  I mean, look at this!

 

No rhyme or reason!  Video apps are all over the place.  It's just a mess! The first screen/pic is a little convoluted but simple enough.  The next screen? Lord, have mercy!  We have

  • The Playstation Store.  Great if I'm in the mood to buy something.  I'd rather a game be first but hey, I can live with that.
  • What's new?:  Cool if I'm curious about what my friends are doing.  Nothing wrong with that.  Not my first destination but again, their choice.
  • The game I last played.  Pretty much my first destination whenever I turn on my PS4.
  • TV and Video:  This is where all of my video apps are.  Some of them, I didn't even dowload but it's okay.  I have Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, WWE all in one convenient place!
  • Next?  A couple more games I've played recently.  Okay.
  • PSNow?  I've never used that.  I never want to use it.  Why can't I get rid of it!?!
  • Live From Playstation?  What the heck is that?  Never used it.  Forced to have it on my main screen.  Let me get rid of it!
  • Playstation Vue?  Isn't that a TV app? Why isn't this with the other video apps!?!? I don't even have it downloaded!  It's taking up my screen!  I don't use it.  I don't want it!
  • Okay.  A couple more games.  I'm cool with this.
  • Spotify!?! Another feature I've never used once and I can't remove from my home screen.  Useless clutter.
  • Share Factory!?! ANOTHER feature I've never used once. No clue what it even is.  I don't use it.  I don't want it.  Why is it forced upon me?
  • Internet browser.  Ain't nothing wrong with that! 
  • Playstation Video.  Playstation.  Video.  What the actual FUCK?  ANOTHER GODDAM VIDEO APP that I don't even use?!?! Why isn't this with the other video apps?  Why is this taking up real estate?
  • The Playroom:  I don't have a PS4 Camera, yet.  I couldn't use the Playroom if I wanted to (and I'm not 100% sure I want to...).  Again, stuck on my home screen. Nothing I can do to get rid of it. 
  • My Library:  A well organized (name, type, etc) library of EVERYTHING listed above and more.  All of the games I own and can download, all in one place.  Why isn't this the first thing on the menu?
So you can kind of see my frustration, here.  So many things in the Library that I'd love to have quick access to.  So many things I don't use or care about that I can't delete or move out of my way.  I really hope Sony gives us the option to personalize our homescreens in the near future.
