HD-DVD never had a chance to win. Sony owns more then 50% of all movies ever made. They chose to go with BR, so BR was going to win.
MS was smart to not put all it's eggs in HD-DVD.
The worst mistake MS ever made was a 30% failure rate. If the 360 was reliable, the PS3 would never of had a chance to catch on. The 360 would have won (well, come in second).
