Eh, believe me... it works! I've tried it with VPS and SOIII right after the Playstation 2 logo showed up after starting up my game and got the message if I want the screen to be put in progressive scan or not. Same thing what happens when you start a Gamecube game on the WII when it requests to play in progressive scan or not. Of course you'll need your WII in the progressive stand together with the component cable. Only difference is, with the WII it happens automatic, you don't have to do something before getting the request... well... except of starting up the game of course :D
