In the examples you provided, obviously security. Nobody gives a shit about surveilling a 70 year old, or you either. Few people are important enough for that shit to be an actual realistic concern.

I provided a common example and a more serious example( Apple VS FBI).

 

Of course, yes, the government would care less about any of us. Unless someone on VGChartz is a leader of ISIS or something, I'm sure our information with the government won't do any harm
