Some people definitely take it too far. Buying a game console and even using that one console says nothing about you, or whether you are a good person. If our favorite company was hit by an A-bomb and couldn't make games anymore, others would take its place in a heartbeat. It really has as much to do with the quality, meaning and purpose of our lives as whether we prefer burgers to tacos.
Find something else to be angry over for the love of God.
