@Chazore: Let's see if they change how the sales go again, although I doubt they'll do it given that it worked well on X-mas.

Anyway, part two of the news:

FREE MXGP2 DEMO IS NOW ON STEAM

http://www.pcgamer.com/free-mxgp2-demo-is-now-on-steam/

The motocross racing game MXGP2 came out early last month to what could accurately be described as “little fanfare”: Metacritic currently has precisely one critic review and one user review for the game. You might want to give it some attention now, though, because developer Milestone has finally released a free demo on Steam.

BRIGADOR IS RELEASING IN JUNE WITH AN UNUSUAL EXTRA

http://www.pcgamer.com/brigador-is-releasing-in-june-with-an-unusual-extra/

Brigador, the neon-soaked isometric mech piloting game from new developer Stellar Jockeys, will be launching along with something a little odd for a brand new indie game: an audiobook. A $30 bundle on itch.io will include the game, audiobook (which is also titled Brigador), as well as the original soundtrack by Makeup and Vanity Set. On Steam, the audiobook and OST package will be sold as DLC.

http://www.pcgamer.com/total-war-warhammer-trailer-demonstrates-the-power-of-magic/

What better way to ease your way into the weekend than with the relaxing sight of jobbing fantasy soliders getting turned into fleshy fireworks? None, is the correct answer. And so to the latest Total War: Warhammer video, which showcases the important role that magic will play in Creative Assembly's upcoming RTS.

CYBERSNEAKY CRPG COPPER DREAMS HITS KICKSTARTER

http://www.pcgamer.com/cybersneaky-crpg-copper-dreams-hits-kickstarter/

Copper Dreams, as you're already doubtless aware, is a new CRPG from Whalenought Studios, makers of gothic roleplaying adventure Serpent in the Staglands. It's an isometric jaunt through an assuredly corrupt cyberpunk colony, and it features sneaking, espionage, and grappling hooks. I was excited before, but now the Kickstarter has hit, I have reached a new level of excitement I thought only possible with the invention of interstellar space travel, or a 4-pint milk carton that doesn't spill the first couple of times you use it. I exaggerate, naturally—a new milk carton design would be incredible—but Copper Dreams is ticking all the right boxes.

MICROSOFT SHUTS DOWN PROJECT SPARK

http://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-shuts-down-project-spark/

Microsoft has announced its intention to "sunset" Project Spark, a horrible corporate buzzword that means "we're shutting it down". Project Spark was its user-friendly, 3D, game-development tool, which most famously gave the world some new Conker levels, and that launched with a costly pricing model. A change to that pricing model—and the appearance of a certain foul-mouthed squirrel—weren't enough to make Project Spark a hit, and so it "transitioned away from active development" last autumn.

A HOUSE OF MANY DOORS CREAKS OPEN SEPTEMBER 24

http://www.pcgamer.com/a-house-of-many-doors-creaks-open-september-24/

A House of Many Doors is a Sunless Sea-a-like set in a “parasite dimension that steals things and people from other worlds”. But wait, that parasite dimension is also a house. A house with legs. And it's kind of a train too. “Exploring in a train that scuttles on mechanical legs,” the website says, “you will discover bizarre civilizations, befriend your crew, write procedurally-generated poetry, and cling to life and sanity”. In that respect, how is it any different from a typical Sunday?

Itch.io REVAMPS EARLY ACCESS WITH itch.io REFINERY

http://www.pcgamer.com/itchio-revamps-early-access-with-itchio-refinery/

“Early access has a problem”, this itch.io blog post begins, before outlining a new toolset for managing early access games: a toolset named itch.io refinery. The refinery is live now for developers using the rapidly growing, and just plain tops indie game store, and brings with it a bunch of features not present with Steam Early Access games.

MOONMAN: TERRARIA MEETS SPELUNKY IN STRANGE 2D LANDSCAPES

http://www.pcgamer.com/moonman-terraria-meets-spelunky-in-strange-2d-landscapes/

Moonman is a procedurally generated adventure game starring a happy green blob on a quest to gather moon fragments and restore light to the world. Spelunky, Binding of Isaac and Terraria are listed as inspirations, and the influence of the latter is particularly apparent in the early screenshots, footage and gifs.

NICHE IS A NATURAL SELECTION GAME ABOUT SURVIVAL AND GENETICS

http://www.pcgamer.com/niche-is-a-natural-selection-game-about-survival-and-genetics/

There's an interesting history of games about survival and genetics. Creatures, Spore, Sheltered, Galapagos: Mendel's Escape and Black and White have explored the idea of nurture as a game mechanic.

Niche is the latest. It's a turn-based survival sim that unfolds across multiple generations. You have to move your small family of fox-like creatures around to find food and potential mates, and to avoid predators. When two of your set procreate, their genetic traits are passed down to the child, who then grows up within a few turns and succeeds its parents' hunter-gatherer duties.

TALES OF BERSERIA GETS NEW CHARACTERS AND SPECIAL ATTACKS

http://www.pcgamer.com/tales-of-berseria-gets-new-characters-and-special-attacks/

The Tales games are good at two things: high melodrama and fast, flashy RPG combat. The former should be covered by the growing cast, including Oscar, "a strong praetor exorcist who fights against Velvet as she tries to flee from Titania, the prison island." There is also a lizard man called Dyle who appears to be a pirate, and also a demon. The debut trailer promises "A tale of Emotion vs. Reason", but I suspect based on the evidence it's 'a tale of a Pirate with a Demon Arm vs. Werewolves'.
