I am the same as you, they'd have to be competitive so to compete with high street stores. High street would have to sell the digital version of the game and that in turn might make them the same price as the disc copies.

Another option is to do a digital trade in system. In order to download a game you have to go online, right? When you sign into to download a game it checks you licences to see if they are all valid. The trade in will work by you exchanging a game you've already purchased digitally and getting back a 3rd of what the game is currently valued in digital as credit back. This allows people at least to get rid of digital games they don't like or don't want anymore.
