On PC... If tits goes to shit, then I can still yar the games or if say, Steam dies, I believe I read somewhere that they will release a patch or something that will allow u to play the games without needing steam.

Now would Sony, MS or Nintendo provide something like that? Doubt it imo. Plus if you get banned from say PSN, then you are fucked and RIP all your games. Now similar logic can be applied to Steam but again, you have soo many different kinds of ways to play the games. Banned from steam? There is GoG and HumbleBundle. Banned from PSN, XBL or NN?
