I'm not sure how Deadpool (which is not made by Marvel's film division btw) is relevant.  Since 2000 the size of the comic market has more than tripled without taking inflation into consideration, and doubled with inflation.  This was after years of stagnation.

In the worst case scenario, comic book movies have done nothing to hurt the market.  It seems quite reasonable to infer that they've actually helped a great deal.  The bottom line is the comic book market has been able to rise concurrently with the film market.

The Early 21th century movies of Batman, Spiderman, and Ironman,  did good for the Comic books market.

But more people should purchase Comics, we need Balance in this market.
