I played it, they all seem pretty similar to me. Just different weapons, but the majority of them are just guns still. I always thought moba type games were supposed to have more unique characters with level ups and a variety of skills/abilities and what not to choose from. Not just 1/2 skills that you have from the start and a single gun each. Yeah, I get why the loot is only cosmetic. But for someone like me who doesn't care about cosmetic stuff there might as well be no loot at all. So it's a budget release in the US? Well that's fine for you guys, but here in the UK it's already full price at £42 ($60). Now if this was a budget release maybe I would be more interested, but here it's not. |
None of the weapons I listed are guns (rockets, bombs, arrows, hammer) but you are convinced they are all just "guns"? From support to builder to tank, the characters are wildly varied. Some characters go complex with up to 5 abilities. Not only would more abilities be very confusing (on top of some already subtle abilities) but the button mapping for consoles would be exponentially chaotic.
in terms of loot boxes, it's way better to have cosmetics only than to have anything meaningful locked. Knowing blizzard, they are bound to monetize the loot crates, but that's fine since it's only cosmetics. I'd rather have no loot crates than to have impactful things locked. Having the current system is even better
Make sure you are not looking at the origins editions as that is $60 here. The base game here is $40 and I would imagine it's similar in most places
