Because most games had worse score this gen than on the previous? Any Zelda that get less than 99 haven't met expectation?

Are you sure you aren't claiming something no one else is claiming just to make the game look worse and you feel better?

You're the one that is arguing the original claim, which is that it exceeded all expectation. You realize 94 is a very high score, but it certainly doesn't exceed expectations. Their last few games were UC2 at 96, UC3 at 92, LOU at 95. Now we're looking at a sequel to a franchise that's among the best reviewed ones ever on next generation hardware that graphically destroys the previous entries.  94 falls pretty well in line with their track record coming in to this, so I don't think it's a stretch to say that 94 didn't blow away expectations. It should have fallen squarely in to expectations for anyone that has been following ND's track record.

And yeah, people were disappointed with MM and WW's score when they released, despite those scores being enormous on their own simply because they fell far short of OOT. After several relerases of lower scores obviously expectations get reset, but that's not the case with ND. They're coming off a 96, 92 and 95 metacritic track record. 94 falls smack dab in the middle of that.

Nope... you are arguing it.

Average grade people were expecting were 93, it have achieved 94. So it exceeded expectations. And no one said it blow away expectations on generic terms (it may have for some person or another).

And if the game smooked the others and we saw how very good games got short grades this gen, I would say this 94 is very strong contendent against 96 of UC2 base solely on the harshness of reviewers... as a game itself I'll only be able to opinate in a couple weeks when I plat it.

Disapointed with the score or game (in the case of Zelda sequels)?
