Why won't they announce till it's about to ship? I thought Sony promised things way ahead of time
They will promise you thinks that make you buy the current PS3. But they sure as hell won't tell you that a new and improved PS3 comes out in 6 months. Because sales would go to hell for the current one. Similar for all other electronic manufacturers like Microsoft, Apple etc...
