Too early to count them out.
They have 14/16nm and FinFET too for their next cards, which probably wont be far behinde Nvidia's.
Also they are claiming 2.5x perf/watt gains.
Its too early to tell yet, they ll have a big jump as well.
The reason is because we where stuck on 28nm for so damn long.
Most of this is just because of better processing nodes.
AMD will have a big jump too.
