I think it can continue to grow in sales, but it won't get to high sales status like COD or any other big budget AAA title. It's the gameplay and presentation that's going to keep it from reaching its status. FE is def not a game for everyone, even with all the attempts made to make it as approachable as possible. Not everyone digs that type of tactics gameplay as well as that weird anime style. It somewhat lacks that look to pull in a lot of Japanese (not enough cute and moe), and westerners probably think of it as a sort of weird style anime and manga fans like.
These 2 things are probably what are holding it back from reaching those big sales, but that's okay. It doesn't need to be appeal to everyone, but just continue to be.. 'it' x )
