You're basically telling him to skip games from a dead developer (Airtight Games) and everything Square-Enix will brought (publisher).

Welll that is his choice. 

I would probably stop at the developer.If its been closed... well we can tell why eh? :p

Yeah... it sucks OP. I would simply not buy more games from that developer/publisher.

Paying extra for the convenience of having an extra back-up automatically made for most games isn't some microtransaction that gives you more health.  If you have problems with PS+, that's all fine and dandy, there are many reasons to have problems with PS+, but the convenience of cloud saves is not one of them.  I won't even get into how wrong it is to immediately blame the developer for what could easily be a freak, unrepeatable event.

 

Again... paying extra for something that should work properly in the first place. I do have problems when the solution to broken products is to throw more money at it. How is that positive for anyone but the seller? 

This isn't paying extra for the convinience as you wrongly put it. This is paying to not have the incovenience, wich is very different.
