Yup, that's what BC on ps3 did for me. I had multiple saves on FF12, yet the whole virtual memory card went corrupt on the way to the final dungeon with my lvl 120 maxed out, fully optimized party... Watched the end on you tube.
I lost my GT5 career complete save when my ps3 went ylod. I had not backed it up yet. Luckily I didn't mind doing it all again.
I've had my Minecraft save go corrupt on ps4 and now regularly upload it to the cloud just to be sure. Especially after local copies turned out to be corrupt for a while. (It fixed itself somehow, it's now copying fine again) Was a bit of a scare, always copying and renaming it. Then wanted to go back to a previous state and it wouldn't load doh!
The last time was in Alien Isolation, chapter 14 or so had a game ending bug depending on what you did 2 chapters back. Luckily I had multiple saves so I could go back to replay the previous chapters.
