Ok I'll start watching the game studio now so I don't have time to finish all my thoughs. We'll continue tomorrow if you want. We're getting nowhere though heh.

Your rebuttal made no sense not because it got your point over but because it literally makes no sense especially in the context of the argument, the sport is different now because of the rules a point you're either having trouble understanding or just trying to side step for the sake of your argument much like society now is different because of laws that were implemented. Your response unfortunately for you in attempting to try and debunk it completely fell flat on it's face as not only does it fail to address the fact that the current conditions are the result of the rules it literally comes across as a dumb response from someone trying to be smart and that's not an insult by the way that's how it comes across.

The rule does its job as you have admitted and to top it off it doesn't change much as far as playing on the pitch goes, what it does is that it takes into account head to head performance. If a team wins 1-0 at home but loses 4-3 away overall across both legs they were better and that's what it comes down to, this in itself forces teams to perform over both legs because the away goals count towards performance much like in Boxing every punch counts even if it doesn't knock out or hurt the other boxer.

I find it more funny you think teams would not park the bus especially in the modern era when teams like Atleti, Chelsea and even Bayern themselves in a previous era had numerous success with such tactics to grind out wins. An away goal counts towards performance that's why teams go for it otherwise they wouldn't risk much going away and would bank it all on home results. Many of these players and managers aren't out to entertain you or progress the game which I suspect is your thinking here, they're out to make money and be paid like Ronaldo and Rooney so they can live the George Best life even if it means grinding out dull results to bring in more money.
