Do we know that for a fact?
going by https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_2_sales
March 31, 2000 = 1.41
March 31, 2002 = 28.68
March 31, 2003 = 51.20 (3years after launch)
PS4 took 2 years and 4months to ship 40m.
Lets give it another 6months and then compair that number to the March 31, 2003 number of the PS2.
Then we should have the full picture, and be able to say one way or the other.
