I don't know what you mean by "anything" but the short answer is ... "yes". Strangely.
You should watch this movie: Die Welle (2008). It was based on real facts and shows a teacher's experiment on nazism.
In fact, I think that Europe's current conditions could lead pretty easily to dictatorial governments (nazi, communist.. whatever). They hold some similarities with the pre-World War II conditions.
