I completely understood what you were saying. I'm saying it's disingenuous to compare this PR statement to hypothetical Sony or Microsoft "thanks for the money" PR statements, considering the context. This isn't a "thanks for the money" sort of statement, it's a welcome back to a series that realistically may have died if the game underperformed - especially coming directly from Insomniac, who usually doesn't discuss sales and who before this had a rough few years. They watched their baby return to the limelight in the greatest way, in a dual-team effort that has gotten love from all over the internet. I'd definitely say that's not equivalent to a generic publisher humblebrag.
