THE WILD EIGHT NOW HAS A FREE, "PRE-ALPHA" DEMO
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-wild-eight-now-has-a-free-pre-alpha-demo/
Co-op survival game The Wild Eight was revealed in February with a trailer and some screens, and is now a little over halfway to success on a $50,000 Kickstarter campaign. The premise sounds like a lot of fun—a handful of plane crash survivors must work together to stay alive in the harsh Alaskan wilderness, and of course one of them is a cannibal lunatic—and now there's a “pre-alpha” demo so you can get a little taste of what it's like.
DRAGON AGE PRODUCER MARK DARRAH TEASES SOMETHING ON TWITTER
http://www.pcgamer.com/dragon-age-producer-mark-darrah-teases-something-on-twitter/
Remember last month, when BioWare's Alistair McNally wandered around GDC wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the studio's new IP, and nobody noticed? It was the cruelest sort of tease, because it left open the possibility that somebody at GDC—surely somebody!—had caught him on film. Yet that appeared not to be the case, as no photographic evidence, as far as I know, has ever surfaced.

ROKH IS A BRUTAL SOUNDING SURVIVAL GAME SET ON MARS
http://www.pcgamer.com/rokh-is-a-brutal-sounding-survival-game-set-on-mars/
Rokh is a survival game led by two ex-Assassin's Creed devs, Benjamin Charbit and Marc Albinet. The build I played at PAX East felt pretty early—we simply built a shelter out of square modules—but ambitions are high. According to the devs, players will spawn somewhere within 155 square miles of the Martian surface, alone and in serious need of oxygen.

BEAR SIMULATOR AWAKENS FROM HIBERNATION
http://www.pcgamer.com/bear-simulator-awakens-from-hibernation/
Back in early March, Bear Simulator developer John Farjay said he was putting the game on ice, because it “didn't have a great reception” on Steam (although user reviews are actually "very positive"), he didn't feel sufficiently skilled to improve it, and he was tired of putting up with all the drama. “Can't ignore it because that causes more drama,” he wrote, “and can't do anything about it because that causes more drama.” But now it seems that he's changed his mind.
NO MAN'S SKY WON'T HAVE A STORY, BUT IT WILL HAVE LORE
http://www.pcgamer.com/no-mans-sky-wont-have-a-story-but-it-will-have-lore/
No Man's Sky won't have a dramatic narrative told via CGI cutscenes, but it will be sprinkled with lore. That's according to a new video, embedded above, in which Hello Games' Sean Murray explains the studio's desire to create an environment for things to happen in.

HYPER LIGHT DRIFTER LOCAL CO-OP BETA IS NOW AVAILABLE
http://www.pcgamer.com/hyper-light-drifter-local-co-op-beta-is-now-available/
Hyper Light Drifter is a beautiful RPG, but it's also brutally difficult. Many won't have the patience to see it through unless someone else is along for the ride, so it's nice that a two-player local coop mode will be rolled out in a future update. Even nicer is that if you want to play it right now you can, thanks to a beta that's just launched.
CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE REMASTER CONFIRMED BY EMOJI
http://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-4-modern-warfare-remaster-confirmed-by-emoji/
Yesterday, a photo of a Target reservation card supposedly revealed a remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to accompany Infinite Warfare: Legacy Edition. Activision has since confirmed the rumour—in the medium of emoji.
NEVER ALONE DEVS TACKLE UKRAINIAN FOLKLORE WITH THE FOREST SONG
http://www.pcgamer.com/never-alone-devs-tackle-ukrainian-folklore-with-the-forest-song/
Never Alone set out to explore the culture of a widly underrepresented people—the native Alaskan Iñupiat—in addition to some wider cautionary themes, and we thought it succeeded with aplomb. Creative director Sean Vesce and art director Dima Veryovka have reunited for a new project under the banner of Colabee Studios: The Forest Song.
