In a few cases there may be an actual difference between the final product and pre-alpha codes. However we've been tricked a lot since previous gen. Especially by Ubisoft whose games actually look worse than the so-called pre-alpha code (Watch Dogs, Far Cry and The Division). In the videos below you can compare Metro Last Light ''pre-alpha'' with the final product. There is little to no difference, it may actually look worse. I am no programmer, but I know pre-alpha refers to a very early code and plays/looks significantly different than the final code. So I am not buying these pre-alpha lies anymore.
