What do you mean by this? It rhymes with jerk, hence the 'er' sound.

As for how and show, kind of too short to spell out phonetically, you could explain them by comparing them with the word 'ow' and the letter 'o' respectively, but I suppose like Tee said earlier for someone that isn't sure how to pronounce those either it doesn't really help.

Like Teeqoz said before, British people commonly drop the 'r' in that 'er' sound you speak of (and in a few others too).
