The problem with this topic has never been the choice of self termination but more so the can of worms it opens, as harsh as it may sound it's probably best things stay how they are to avoid that can of worms. The are mad people out there who would knock vulnerable people off and use this as a means to get off scott free, I particularly fear for people who are mentally slow in this instance.
It's never straight forward with these things and it's probably best to leave things as they are to preserve life.
