Yes.Not only it is better for us, since it is more value for our money(without this upgrade hardware crap), but it also more realistic due to the reality of the industry nowadays.Games simply are more expensive and takes way more time than lets say, 10 years ago.If generations were to last only 4 or 5 years, investments in game development would simply be too risky, more than they should.And a longer generation would help remedy that, since the userbase would be (relativily speaking) high, assets could be reused, and developers would be more familiar with the hardware, making it easier to make sequels and whatnot.
