Of course they count. I've learned more about the US politics from house of cards than I ever did trying to figure it out from reading the news and searching for and collecting music (Vinal, CD, digital downloads, creating youtube playlists whatever it may be) is one of the most rewarding hobbies there is, I forgot to add that to the OP but its so engrained in me it doesn't even feel like a hobby, I do it naturally.

I like that is netflix produced so they give us the whole season on the same day instead of one episode per week.
