I was pretty addicted to FFXI. I tried WoW a few times (three total) but always came back to FFXI because it's just better (probably shouldn't have said that but oh well).
I would play at all hours of the day, morning, and night even though I had classes, I wrote scripts to let me know when a monster died (never used them for anything other than information gathering), a wrote a fishing bot and a farming bot (crawler silk) just to see if I could but never actually used them other than to just test them, wrote awesome macro scripts, and was just considered plain awesome at my main job (Summoner) and really good at any of the other mage jobs.
And the funny thing is that I never actually got SMN to 75 despite playing for something like three years. I got it as high as 72 or 73 (forget now) but starting at about 55-60 I started doing end game stuff with my linkshell and just rarely leveled.
