What have you except? 2D fighting games are way easier to design and develop than real 3D fighting games like Tekken or Dead or Alive.
I dont think it would be smart for Namco to put all this money into an IP they couldnt own, they rather would spent the money for a new Soul Calibur game which would be a smarter move.
But at least Tekken 7 will have Akuma
