The Elder Scrolls: Legends, a free-to-play strategy card game that might remind you of another certain F2P game that's popular with lapsed slot machine addicts, is now in closed beta. “Selected registrants” will begin playing the game today—and may already be doing so!—while additional players will be invited behind the velvet rope over the next few months.

We mentioned the lofty exploration game Aer a couple of months ago in our “Guide to the Games of 2016,” in which we said it looks gorgeous and “sounds pretty chill.” Based on the gameplay trailer released today by publisher Daedalic Entertainment, I think it's fair to say that we were right on the money.

TWO MAJOR DIVISION EXPLOITS HAVE BEEN FIXED, MORE PERMABANS HANDED OUT

Ubisoft says it has fixed two of the most egregious exploits in The Division: The “Double Revive” glitch that enabled downed players to effectively rescue themselves, and a more damaging bug that came to light yesterday, that allowed talents to be stacked multiple times, heightening weapon damage to absurd levels.

 

STEAM IS REPORTEDLY PLANNING TO ACCEPT BITCOIN

Valve is preparing to implement Bitcoin support on Steam, numerous reports today suggest. The digital currency is likely to be a payment option quite soon, too, if screenshots taken from Steam's private developer forums are accurate.

 

BLIZZARD REVEALS ALL REMAINING WHISPERS OF THE OLD GODS HEARTHSTONE CARDS

As is now the tradition for Hearthstone set reveals, with a few days left until release Blizzard has stopped the daily drip of new cards and turned on the water cannon. This morning senior designer Ben Brode was joined by caster Dan “Frodan” Chou to play four games using decks built mainly from cards coming in the Whispers of the Old Gods expansion. You can see the whole thing above, and artwork for all of the new cards has been uploaded to the official Hearthstone Facebook page. Blizzard has also confirmed players will be able to earn up to 13 free packs by logging in and completing quests..

ROCKET LEAGUE IS GETTING A WITCHER-THEMED MEDALLION, OF COURSE

Rocket League is an excellent video game, but it's also an excellent tool for cross-promoting other video games. So far we've seen Dying Light in Rocket League, the Batmobile in Rocket League, and Fallout's Vault Boy in Rocket League. Now, in the lead up to a major expansion set to release in June, we have The Witcher 3 in Rocket League.

 

VALVE CONSIDERS 'PRIME' MATCHMAKING FOR CS:GO

Late last night, Valve dropped a small patch for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. However, the patch notes don't mention a significant addition to the game files that hints at 'Prime Account Matchmaking'. Don't worry, it's not a new premium service.

 

NOSTALRIUS PETITION PASSES 200K SIGNATURES, MARK KERN TO DELIVER IT

The petition to resurrect the private server Nostalrius following Blizzard's cease and desist has surpassed 200,000 signatures. This was the threshold at which former World of Warcraft team lead Mark Kern pledged to deliver it to Blizzard president Mike Morhaime personally. He's more than making good on that offer.
