After putting many more hours into the game I officially redact this statement.
Really I'm fine with 3 ammo in the Dropshot now I've played against it a lot more and know how to deal with it, It really is a defensive based weapon and takes some good timing/aim to consistantly get mid-long range kills with it and trying to shotgun rush someone who has the Dropshot makes it your own fault when they kill you without any effort.
