Well, they said that they want Gears 4 to be a graphical defining title for XBO. But this is not single but multiplayer and also a Beta, multiplayer should always be 100% about gameplay and graphics should be pretty much the last thing to think about in competitive multiplayer experiences.

Nobody gives a shit about graphics in CS:GO or something else either.  People even reduce some graphical settings in CS:GO because they are only obstructive.

In my opinion (and I think in the opinion of most who take a multiplayer serious) graphics are pretty unimportant in competitive multiplayer. 

Singleplayer on the other hand should look very good. If not then it will be weird.
