Buttttt.... I get it, I see why it exists, people have been complaining about how underpowered these current gen consoles are, I haven't subscribed to that thinking as I have been very happy with my PS4's performance both and in game and the extreme upgrade in OS from the PS3 that makes the generation leap worth it as it is. But a boost in specs offering higher framerate and visuals is actually not a terrible idea.

I've come around to the idea of a Neo so much I think from this point every gen should probably have a .5 AS LONG as it is done like PS4 to Neo where there will be no exclusives and nothing changes for current owners, as technology is progressing so quickly, moore's law is still kind of in effect so consoles have to keep up and 6 years is too long. 

I'll just sell my current PS4 when the Neo comes out so it end up not costing me that much.

People complained that they were underpowered at the start of the gen. With the upgrade being just an extra 30%, all we have is a slightly less underpowered console. Consoles can't keep up with the PC Jonses because high end gaming PCs are far more expensive than consoles so the best you can get is mid to low end gaming PC power into a console. The only real power issue is between consoles of the same generation. And in that PS4 is the powerhouse, at least ujntil NX hits the streets.

The reason behind PS4.5 is not about PS4 being underpowered. It's about trying to get a boost in sales of 4K TVs.
