Part 2:
FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS REMADE AS A YOUTUBE CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-new-vegas-remade-as-a-youtube-choose-your-own-adventure/
There's modding and then there's meta-modding: re-imagining a game in an entirely new medium. YouTuber Many A True Nerd has redone the entire story of Fallout: New Vegas in a vast collection of annotated YouTube videos, à la Choose Your Own Adventure books. I've given it a few runs to remind myself of how very bad I am at choosing my own adventure.
JOHN ROMERO IS TEASING A NEW SHOOTER
http://www.pcgamer.com/john-romero-is-teasing-a-new-shooter/
Shacknews posted an interesting story on Friday about Hoxar Inc, which on the surface appears to be a tech start-up promoting a new technology called Blackroom, a holodeck-like “fully immersive experience without physical restriction,” including the need for goggles. “Hoxar has spent years innovating and pushing the boundaries of holographic technology beyond its competitors,” its website says. “Now, with the latest Hoxar DPHM Simulators, users can experience a walkable space that feels, smells, and looks like the real thing—or unreal thing, as is usually preferred.”
THE OVERWATCH CLOSED BETA IS SHUTTING NEXT WEEK
http://www.pcgamer.com/the-overwatch-closed-beta-is-shutting-next-week/
In a bit of inevitable-but-still-sad news for those of you enjoying the Overwatch beta, Blizzard has announced that it will come to an end on April 25, so that “final preparations” can begin for the launch next month.
FREE RAMBO: THE VIDEOGAME DLC WILL BE OUT TOMORROW
http://www.pcgamer.com/free-rambo-the-videogame-dlc-will-be-out-tomorrow/
I can't say for certain why we didn't review Rambo: The Videogame around these parts, although I suspect the fact that it was pretty awful may have been the deciding factor. The PC version rocks a 34 aggregate score on Metacritic, which is actually ahead of the Xbox 360 edition (28) and the PS3 (23, yowch). Despite that, and the fact that it came out more than two years ago, a new DLC expansion called Baker Team will be released for the game tomorrow. At this point I like to imagine at least a couple of you tying bandannas on in expectation.
BATTLEZONE 98 REDUX IS NOW ON STEAM
http://www.pcgamer.com/battlezone-98-redux-is-now-on-steam/
Rebellion announced in February that Battlezone 98 Redux, a remake of the hit FPS/RTS hybrid that was originally released in 1998, was in the works and would be out in the spring. And “the spring,” as it turns out, is today.

DARK SOULS 3 PATCH REBALANCES WEAPONS AND SQUASHES SOME BUGS
http://www.pcgamer.com/dark-souls-3-patch-rebalances-weapons-and-squashes-some-bugs/
If you're as utterly consumed by Dark Souls 3 as I am, then even the most mundane patch notes are likely to have you furrowing your brows. Bandai Namco has announced an imminent 1.04 patch to roll out tomorrow, and while it's not a huge update, you'd best have a look in case one of your favourite weapons is affected.
>>That's the good news, here comes the bad ones.
DARK SOULS 1 MULTIPLAYER DIES MYSTERIOUSLY
http://www.pcgamer.com/dark-souls-1-multiplayer-dies-mysteriously/
While in Dark Souls 3 there are so many summon signs that it's hard to tell one from another, in Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition an abyssal silence has fallen. Multiplayer has been offline since April 13—the day after Dark Souls 3 released—with no word from Bandai or From Software as to what's going on.
SONG OF THE DEEP, INSOMNIAC'S AQUATIC METROIDVANIA, RELEASES IN JULY
http://www.pcgamer.com/song-of-the-deep-insomniacs-aquatic-metroidvania-releases-in-july/
Insomniac Games, the studio best known for console-centric titles like Ratchet and Clank, Resistance and Sunset Overdrive, will release its 2D Metroidvania on Steam in July. As James discovered when he played it back in January, Song of the Deep follows the adventures of Merryn who, after losing her father during a routine fishing trip, feels compelled to find him. Inevitably, the ocean holds all manner of strange malevolent foes.

DANGANRONPA 2: GOODBYE DESPAIR IS OUT NOW
http://www.pcgamer.com/danganronpa-2-goodbye-despair-is-out-now/
Goodbye, despair, you have been replaced with fatalism. Danganronpa 2 is out now, and the unlucky teens of Hope's Peak Academy have been shipped off to Jabberwock Island for some bonding. But would you believe it, their robotic tormentor Monokuma reappears to get them killing each other again.
RUNESCAPE GETS NEW ENGINE, CLIENT AND GRAPHICAL OVERHAUL
http://www.pcgamer.com/runescape-gets-new-client-and-graphical-overhaul/
I consider any version of Runescape which isn't shaded strictly in primary colours to be witchcraft. The news that Runescape now has a standalone client, another round of graphical improvements and is moving away from Java is rank heresy.
