In many sports, safety of participants is high priority especially when it comes to head injuries. In both Rugby and football (soccer) the ref will stop play if they suspect a head injury, even if it's nothing.
But even with the risks people do these sports to enjoy themselves. Everyone knows the risks of boxing (which have increased since boxers have padding on their hands so they can keep punching) yet people still love to do it. Just wish the refs were more causious.
