You are expecting too much, we won't have the benefit of cheaper transistors ... |
Yeah I know. :( But if Ninty takes advantage of Polaris and it's efficiency... But that is likely a long shot. AMD has stagnated for way to long in the GPU space, which is mostly compounded by slow fabrication improvements.

No you don't.
The GPU is independent of the CPU, the GPU can also offload some processing that is typically done on the CPU, the CPU is becoming less important for gaming as time goes on, provided it has CPU performance that is "good enough" then there is nothing to worry about. (Although more is better, you need to be realistic for a cost sensitive device.)
There are also tasks a GPU can perform that is not RAM/Bandwidth intensive, which would still allow for the hardware to still shine if the rest of the specs don't match up.
One would imagine that the console would be targeting only 1080P, so it's not like you need a ton of bandwidth and video memory for that low resolution anyway.
Price point should be affordable for a Radeon of that caliber.

Not exactly. You remember there is another platform that greatly exceeds the PS4. That is the PC. - Multiplatform games are already a fairly chunky "step up" as most console multiplats are only "high" graphics rather than the PC's "Ultra". - It would also allow for more games to hit 1080P/60fps.
