This basically sums up one of my big problems with Nisekoi that makes my least favorite Manga that i am caught up to. Cause it always finds a way to drag on when there are so many moments that felt like it was building to its ending but something happens to make it drag on like introducing another girl that Raku might have made a promise too or just met but that girl falls for him or having a a few story arcs in a row that has nothing to do with the pendant. It really feels like this would be a much better series if it was around a 100 chapters long and only focused on the love triangle between Chitoge and Onoder and finding out which one of them made the promise to Raku.

I honestly kind of miss those pointless filler chapters now that the manga is moving a mile a minute.

Personally, I would have liked to see something more along the lines of the one-shot, that only really involved Raku, Chitoge, and their families, but turning the series into a harem comedy probably is a big reason it grew so popular. I do think that there is a lot of fluff that could have removed in the middle. After 51 or so, but before the rejections started, it seemed like there was giant black hole of filler. Not all of it was bad (Hana, Amnesia, and the Move arcs were all sublime), but there was a lot of pointless stuff that you could remove and still tell the same basic story.

Still, seeing as how it's a slice-of-life and comedy first...I'm not sure I can say those chapters should have been removed...as they helped to develop the existing characters. Just an observation I guess.
