Jaime, different. Stannis, different. Selyse and Shireen, different. Sansa, different. Myrcella, different. Bronn, different. Brienne, different. Barristan, different. Melissandre, different. Jaime and Cersei's relationship, different. Even the manner of how Jon got to his end point was substantially different.

Barristan Selma being robbed of one of the most bad ass moments in the series. There were many changes all over Westeros and Essos. season five marked the break where the books and shows became distinct entities.

 

That said, I read the books long before the show so as long as those finish before I or George die then I'll be content.
