Here's a question. Was their a huge backlash when Halo 1 or 2 came to PC? At that point, the Internet was nearly what it is today. Minus social media.

Bad example though.  Halo was originally intended as a Mac/PC game with no console version named.  The game was even revealed at Macworld 1999, and the Xbox version came about when MS bought Bungie.  The backlash back then was from Mac fans who lost one of their most supportive developers.

Halo 2 was also released ~2½ years later on the PC after the Xbox version.

No one cared about Halo, or really knew about it. Till it was on Xbox. So were it was, before that point, is really not important. I only heard about Halo, because of Xbox. And Halo 2 being late is moot. Because people are complaining, now. That they don't want the MCC, to come to PC. MCC is old. And on top of it, Halo 3, 4 etc. games haven't been put on PC, period. There's hate now. But H1 and 2, none. Minus that H2 was locked to Vista.

Did anyone have a meltdown that the XBOX original was gonna fail. Because the games that made it a household name, was on PC too. For some reason nowadays. People just have to have exclusives, to buy the system. Instead of just buying it, for the prefence. Is that a bad thing? To buy a XB over a PS4. Because MS is your style. And nothing else. Or the PC port. Because you just want it there? Regardless if it's better, or not. That's how I've treated the Xbox systems. Do I hate the console? Except for the horrible failure rate, with the 360, no. I just don't buy it. Because MS' designs, and ethics (Tomb Raider), I don't care for. But I would like to purchase Halo on PC. That's all.
