Then again, "next gen" is a stupid term anyway. The "next gen" started when the 360 came out. Gears was the start of showing that off.

Of course MP3 changed gaming, it's just not really visible to everyone yet. It's the basis for all future FPS games on the Wii, it showed how controls have to be done. As more and more FPS get made for the Wii, the new control scheme becomes the standard on consoles and FPS on the HD systems will starting to become obsolete and see decreasing sales. That's significant enough to be called a change in gaming.

 

yeah, but MoH:H2 also had similar controls.  Those other games are advancing the shooter genre in other ways.  I hope the controls carry over to other games, but I don't think that's a major revolution, either.  Keyboard/mouse in UT3 is more of one, imo.
