So people constantley say that Sony comes up with New Hardware and then is quick to drop support for it, i dissagree.

examples:

- PS Move (PS3): is required for PSVR now, how is it dropping hardware if its required on the newer console as a last gen periphiphal ?

- PS4 Camera: same story, it used to be worthless pile but now its selling a lot of units on Amazon. On my Amazon it even outsold the Xbox 360 and -One Kinect devices, the amount of user scores are an indication.

-PSPGO: wasnt a new system to begin with but a digital only PSP, all what they did is closing down the store but you can still buy/download PSP games on the PSPGo from your PS3s store. So again, were was it dropping an entire new hardware/system? It was just a nice model for a certain demographics and its still working.

- PSVITA: Despite that Sony ceased first party support the Vita gets plenty of japanese games and gets now more games than the 3DS. It should be visable to anyone whos really into handhelds. So even a Sony system on the dying bed still gets more games and support than other systems in their prime.

And its also a fact that Sony prefers having games on PS+ who are compatible with PS4, PS3 and the Vita. There are a lot of Indie games who solely were devoloped to get them into the PS+ programm, making a Vita port helps alot to be aproved by Sony. So it can be said that Sony is indirectley supporting the PSVita with these Software policies, brining more games to this system.

- PSTV: just like with the PSPGO, the PSTV was a device for a certain demographics. It was just another option to choose from. Its pretty usefull for people who want to have a cheap PSvita to play their PS+ Vita games they never had access before.  Its also ideal for people who want to record footage of their Vita games.

- PS2 BC on PS3: this is maybe a 50 50 thing for me but it still think its just anotehr hadrware version in the earlier days. They removed the BC to make the console cheaper. The PS2 hadrware inside the launch model PS3 didnt improved the PS2 graphics in anyway. It was just a built-in-PS2 inside the PS3. It was just another option by Sony if you wanted BC, not a grant sheme to dominate anything or bringing the next thing.

- and a week ago they closed down the servers for FF11 on the PS2, yes the PlayStation 2. If that isnt prove enough what else do you need?

People really shouldnt worry about their PS4s being obsolete when a PS4K is really coming out. And people need to realize that Sony always likes giving you more hardware options and accessories. They are a major electronics company, it really didnt cost them a penny to devolope a PSTV. People always except a new product being the next Iphone or this and that, but its about having more options for the consumer not to change the wheel.
