I wonder how sale of PSP would look like if there was no scene...  I always thought people resign from buying genuine software and start to pirate but maybe it's a non-factor...maybe many people would never buy a system if there was no homebrew and piracy... What do you think?

There are some hardcore pirates who never buy anything. But most people in the scene seem to be reasonable, buying games they like. Theres a good number of sales from people who download a title, enjoy it, and then decide to buy it just to support the maker. Some in the scene are adametly against piracy, and a few of the PSP hacks forums ban people for talking about torrents and the like.

I've been thinking about buying a brand new PSP since my current one is a launch unit and going to hell fast. Now that I know I can downgrade a 3.5, I think I will.

@blue, Average Joe doesn't know shit about his computer beyond porn and AOL. How is he supposed to downgrade a PSP, configure the iso loaders, configure bittorrent and find ripped umds, ect? And keep in mind that you can brick your PSP if you don't know what you're doing. Most people find piracy too troublesome.
